The sports hall looked resplendent decked out to echo the main theme of ‘Celebration’. It was full of cakes, breads and cookies; arts, crafts, and models; handwriting and photographs; flower arrangements and jams.
We would like to thank all our judges this year: - Helen Timm and Holli Morrell from FunClub; Michelle Lang, Lesley Stott and Ashley Latty from school, along with Ms Pearson’s mum Sheila; Amanda Thornton-Jones and Helen Brady from Red Kite; Clare Mitchell and David Kitson from Taylor-Shaw; and Carolyn Nimick in her role as Governor. Those of us judging the edibles had very fine morning indeed!! A special big thank you must go to Margaret Howard who not only judged many of the exhibits but organised the whole shebang too!
Each class and year group, if appropriate, was awarded a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place along with some Highly Commended certificates awarded to those who were very close to the top three. Some of the decisions were very close and, in some cases, only 3 points separated the top three. The final choice for the judges to make was ‘Best In Show’. For the adults this went to Rita Cani for a rather lovely tote bag made from upcycled materials. For the children the decision took much longer but eventually Sofia Cunningham (TM) was chosen for her stunning portrait of a girl.
Many congratulations to all our winners and to those who took the time to take part. We look forward to another wonderful Rossett Acre Show next year.
