Red Kite Learning Trust, is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018. (“the accessibility regulations”)

 This website is run by the school in collaboration with Red Kite Learning Trust and supported by SeeGreen Ltd. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website.

To make our website accessible for all, you should be able to:

• Change colours, contrast levels and fonts using browser or device settings
• Zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen
• Navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
• Navigate and read most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver) 

While we are working actively to resolve the accessibility issues with our relevant websites and services, AbilityNet has advice that may make our website more usable in the current state.

How accessible this website is

We know some parts of this website are not fully accessible:

• You cannot always skip directly to the main content when using a screen reader or keyboard navigation.
• You cannot change line height or spacing beyond standard browser controls.
• Some older PDF or Word documents may not be fully accessible to screen reader software.
• Some pages include images or graphics that contain text which screen readers cannot read. We are not adding new content in these formats, and existing examples are being replaced or reformatted over time.
• Expandable sections (such as accordions) may not announce content correctly to assistive technology.

Non-accessible content

(a) Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations

 

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reason(s):

• Images with embedded text that lack accessible alternatives (fails WCAG 1.1.1: Non-text Content)
• Lack of mechanisms to bypass blocks of repeated content (fails WCAG 2.4.1: Bypass Blocks)
• PDF documents that are not fully structured or tagged (fails WCAG 4.1.2: Name, Role, Value)
• Expandable content that may not be exposed correctly to assistive technologies (fails WCAG 4.1.2: Name, Role, Value)
• Keyboard navigation barriers on some interactive elements (fails WCAG 2.1.1: Keyboard)

(b) Disproportionate burden

For issues within the control of the school we have assessed the cost of fixing some issues such as:

• Alternative text missing on images uploaded before January 2026

• Some information provided by text-based images

• Some historic PDF documents which don’t meet up-to-date accessibility requirements

We’ve assessed the cost of fixing the issues with navigation and accessing information. We believe that doing so now would be a disproportionate burden within the meaning of the accessibility regulations. We will make another assessment in July 2027.

What we are doing to improve accessibility 

Red Kite Learning Trust is supporting its schools to improve accessibility across their websites. Below is our roadmap which shows the steps we are taking.

January 2026 onwards	Improving how we add new information New pages, news items and documents will be added in a more accessible format, using clear text rather than images and including alt text where possible.
March–August 2026	Updating key information pages first Important pages such as contact details, safeguarding, SEND, term dates and admissions will be reviewed so they are clearer and easier to use on all devices and with assistive technology.
September 2026–July 2027	Reviewing older content gradually Older pages and documents will be updated or replaced over time, starting with the information families use most often.
By 2027	Working with our website provider on technical changes Some improvements require changes to the website platform (for example, keyboard navigation and layout). These will be addressed at the point of the next platform refresh.
Ongoing from 2027	Checking and improving regularly We will continue to review accessibility regularly and make improvements where necessary.

Preparation of this accessibility statement

This statement was prepared on 8^th January 2026 and will be reviewed annually.

 

This website was last tested on 28^th January 2026 through self-assessment against the WCAG 2.2 AA standard.
